On behalf of the HIV Clinicians Society of Kenya it is my great pleasure to invite you to the delayed Third National HIV conference jointly hosted with NASCOP. The HIV Clinicians Society of Kenya provides an independent scientific forum involving the leading experts in HIV and is specifically designed for HIV healthcare professionals. And focuses on optimizing treatment for their patients through CMEs, conferences, and promoting research.

It is always a pleasure to partner with NASCOP in this conference after all we all have one aim in view that is to unite in the fight against HIV pandemic and eventually achieve zero target.

We need no explanation for the delay of this conference which was originally scheduled for October 2020. As we are all aware that the COVID 19 pandemic had a significant disruptive impact in all activities including conferences. It is against this background of COVID pandemic that the THEME for these year’s conference will evolve around HIV and COVID 19.

The COVID 19 Pandemic has impacted HIV services all over the globe and there is need to share lessons learnt from this crisis. More than ever, HIV Clinicians must work together to get the HIV response back on track and move towards the elimination of HIV AIDS to achieve zero target. Strong cooperation between clinicians, scientists, community organization, public health agencies, academic institutions, private institutions and industry will be crucial if we are to succeed in our endeavors.

People affected by HIV have faced difficulty in accessing testing, screening, preventive as well as maintaining anti-retroviral treatment. We have indeed witnessed psychological socio-economic damage of infection control measures which has compounded the situation in those most affected, the marginalized and vulnerable population.

The conference this year will be organized in a hybrid format. This means that there will be an onsite conference with limited participation following a comprehensive COVID 19 health and safety protocol. Complimented by an engaging and interactive online platform that will mirror scientific programme and industry sponsored sessions. We hope that this conference will become a hub of cutting edge science, showcasing innovations in clinical care and supporting partnership working in HIV.

The hybrid format will provide new opportunity to deliver content and raise awareness. There will be Virtual Exhibition facility to provide the pharma industry the opportunity a show case for their products.

The scientific committee has prepared a robust programme and we look forward in welcoming you or connect with you online.
